Join TREK’s Summer Work Term Training Program!

TREK Geotechnical Inc. is a growing employee-owned Canadian engineering consulting firm headquartered in Winnipeg with operations extending across Western Canada, Northwest Ontario and the Northern territories. Our new work term experience program has been developed to identify and invest in the next generation of engineers that will continue to lead our company success into the future.

The summer work terms are based in Winnipeg where students will have an opportunity to interact and work with practicing engineers and TREK’s leadership team including travel to project sites around the Province.  We are currently hiring multiple summer student positions to join our formal training program that will include exposure to consulting engineering in one or more of the disciplines of geotechnical engineering, water resources engineering, environmental engineering and engineering materials testing.  

Our summer student training program is intended to provide students with a comprehensive work term experience that includes direct mentoring by senior engineers in all areas of our practice and the opportunity to lead an independent project. 

Your summer work term experience will include:

  • Site visits to support engineers conducting site investigations, monitoring instrumentation and observing construction activities.
  • Desktop design support activities including data and numerical analysis, review of project drawings and technical documents, and other design focused activities.
  • Independent study that involves each student selecting a specified project to be assigned over the summer term that can be extended to potentially be used as a thesis project in your academics studies. Project details will be reviewed by the VP Quality and Innovation for selection by each summer student.
  • All summer student positions involve a formal company onboarding program, ongoing safety training, exposure to construction activities, professional development training opportunities and involvement in all TREK social events!
